“I didn’t really post a lot of Kassie’s makeup stuff because I was a little scared. I don’t want the public to see my son in a negative way,” Khodayari said, adding that she avoids posting videos of her son. for almost a year after his first video.
She said four -year -old Mattis ’interest in makeup grew privately and she started watching YouTube tutorials by James Charles, NikkiTutorials, and Mitchell MUA. She practiced the techniques she learned from her favorite artists on her mother’s face, on her dolls, and even on her 11 -year -old brother DeVonté.
Mattis said her love of makeup is because it’s a versatile skill that can be dramatic especially on seasonal holidays like Halloween and Christmas. “You can do anything with makeup. You can get as creative as you want,” she said.
In the early months of 2021, Khodayari said Mattis asked his mother to upload videos where he does a makeup routine on TikTok, and later, on March 2, 2021, a video in which he proved to a follower she wore pink. himself and a blue one on his mother were viewed over 11.4 million times.
Since then, the little makeup artist has built a loyal fanbase and the parent duo has learned to drown their online critics.

She said that just because a 30-second video shows her son putting on makeup, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a normal childhood when the camera is off.

Khodayari said Mattis was exposed to makeup early on because his clients were going to their house. Mattis said his creative idol is James Charles, who he said reposted one of his videos creating his look in July 2021.
